Woes of Our Sexy Halloween
First and foremost! Happy Halloween everyone! Although I haven’t been trick-or-treating, (because I hate candy) I can still feel the gleeful atmosphere around me! :) Especially when my school’s cafeteria is showing horror movie, having their staff dressed up, and giving out free candy and ice-cream all in one night!
The topic I want to talk about today is not so delightful. I came...

30 Day Challenge: 8. Would you rather date someone...
Plain with an amazing personality
Life will be so dull if my other half fails to inspire me, fails to understand how and what I think, and fails to mentally challenge me.
Looks can always be altered by getting a hair cut, shaving, wearing different clothes etc. Also, 90% of this world population are “plain” anyways, including me, so why bother to wait for a mega hot person? AMAZING...

The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. In other words, Don’t Cheat. Your lover does not deserve it, and you are better than doing such things.

People I care so much:
My KPL sisters. Shout out to Alphas! <3 We have been through so much together and are creating so many memories and history at the same time. Although I have only met them for less than a year, I cannot imagine my life at Duke...

30 Day Challenge: 5. Five things that irritate you...
Please keep in mind, this is just a list of things that are against my values, does not mean that they are wrong or anything!!
Not keep a promise one has made Number 1 rule of my life. If you promised something, DO IT. And do it well. If you know you can’t do it, then don’t make that promise on the first place! It can hurt the person you promised a lot more than you think. Not...

30 Day Challenge: 4. What do you wear to bed?
An oversized t-shirt - usually I got them for free during events but they ran out of smalls and mediums~
Boxer pajama (? is that how you call it?)
Socks! - I have cold hands and feet all the time. And when people’s feet and hands are warm, they fall asleep faster. So I always wear socks to bed in the winter! Try it if you don’t believe it!
:D
Sad thing is, I don’t sleep...

30 Day Challenge: 3. What kind of person attracts...
Well, because they did not specify “male/female” or “friends” or anything, I will just go with the general “what kind of persons do I like”?
——
My friends always say that I’m too picky when it comes to finding a bf, and I have to admit, it’s the Capricorn coming out of me - I either like someone, or I don’t. I trust my intuition...

30 Day Challenge: 2. How have you changed in the...
I actually went back to my photo storage and dairy to answer this question! Well, to be exact, I went to see Jude Law performing in Hamlet at NYC on Oct 25, 2009. It’s pretty close to exactly 2 years ago!
2 years. The past 2 years was for some reason, pretty “blurred” for me now that I think of it. It was Senior Fall in high school, a very stressful and painful time for me. My...

30 Day Challenge: 1. Meaning behind your Tumblr...
This tumblr name’s is… “A Daily Dose of Culture”
As I mentioned before, this is a blog where I share things I find interesting, thought-provoking, eye-catching, disturbing or whatever that I want to talk about.
Culture has always been something essential to me because Hong Kong is such a culturally-unique place. There is a fair share of British culture left behind, and...

Embarrassed for CCTV...again
derekzhao:
This is not ok. Not so much because CCTV so blatantly copied the BBC right down to percussions stings, chord progressions, and instrumentation, but because they did it so poorly! Cringeworthy, really. For a culture that’s sensitive about shame, this is sure shameless. Wish I could bust into their offices, tell them they did a terrible job ripping off the BBC, and offer to do a much...

The Cycle of Procrastination
I swear, I do the exact same thing!
It’s really coming to get me this week when I have 2 mid-terms!
freakinfruity:
When I have a lot of work I get stressed. When I get stressed I procrastinate. When I procrastinate I let the work build up. Does anyone see the vicious cycle.
Proof…. I’m on tumblr right now.

Why do we (I) watch Asian dramas? ft. Radway's...
Last post - I discussed some of the reasons Radway explains why women read romance novels, which I then transfered/referenced in my arguments in why we watch dramas/soap operas.
This time, I am going to use Radway once again (that’s how I much I love her writing! Her arguments are so accurate! AHHHHH). But I am going to focus on the “language and narrative discourse” of dramas.

Upon hearing this news a day after a new iPhone announcement I just couldn’t believe it. My best friend showed me a twitter feed and it read “Steve Jobs RIP.” Not the words I was expecting to see across an iPhone. My heart dropped. As many people know, I am a huge Apple fan. I have Macs, iPods,…

Why do we (I) watch Asian dramas? Understanding...
Hi all,
It’s me updating laaaaate at night/morning again. This time, I want to share a piece of work that I read for my Gender and Popular Culture class. I seldom like to talk about serious topics like these on blogs, but I find this reading (and another one on Commodity Feminism, see here) very relevant to my life.
This book “Reading the Romance: Women, Patriarchy, and Popular...
